EARTH’S COLOURS & TEXTURES
Earth Colours and Textures is a body of work created using the ancient medium of egg tempera, in which hand-mixed pigments are suspended in egg yolk to produce layered, luminous surfaces.
The series draws from the tactile language of the land—its sediment, stone, and mineral veins—translating natural textures into fluid abstract forms.
Each painting evokes a geological memory: the wash of water across soil, the quiet erosion of rock, the layering of time within earth itself. Using pigments such as green earth, malachite, umber, and vivianite, the work reflects the raw beauty of natural materials and their interaction with the organic properties of the egg tempera medium.
The series is not a representation of landscape, but a distillation of it—offering viewers a contemplative space to sense the earth not through horizon or contour, but through colour, flow, and texture.
